Edgar Lee “Bud” VanEaton, 96, died September 4, 2012 at Country Place Senior Living, Larned. He was born August 29, 1916 in Rozel, the son of Edward and Hattie Stealy VanEaton. A longtime resident of Larned, he was a retired Farmer and Custom Harvester.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Larned.
On November 1, 1975, he married Sylvia M. Herdt Miller at Denver, Colorado. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Diane Mitchell and husband Gerald, Arapahoe, Colorado, and Janet Krueger and husband Dale, Columbus, Michigan, three step-children, Sandy Hardies and husband Renwood, Canadian Lakes, Michigan, David Miller and wife Dena, Larned, and Debra Vogle and husband Roger, ElDorado, brother, G.W. VanEaton, Oakley, 16 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Lee VanEaton, three brothers, Glen, Ezra and William, nine sisters, Fannie Healy, Sue Kuehn, Maude Drake, Essie Sturm, Dolly Thomas, Leta Nelson, Evelyn Peterson, Marforie Ellen VanEaton and Eva VanEaton.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church, with Pastor Rick Langness presiding. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Morell Funeral Home, Larned. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Garfield Cemetery.
